Nick Nurse dropped a few BARS about the Sixers’ playoff struggles during his introductory press conference

Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse knows that while his new team has been one of the most successful regular season teams over the past 5-6 years, they have struggled in the playoffs and continuously get bounced in the second round.
Nurse, who won an NBA title with Toronto in 2019 will now be tasked with turning the Sixers and his reigning MVP and back-to-back scoring champion in Joel Embiid, into a championship team. During his introductory press conference at the Sixers’ practice center in Camden, Nurse addressed the Sixers’ playoffs struggles.
Nick Nurse on Sixers’ Playoff Struggles
“My first thought on that is this team could be playing tonight (Game 1 of the NBA Finals),” Nurse said. “I think that along with some others in the Eastern Conference probably are wishing they were getting to throw the ball up tonight. That combination of staying healthy, the ball bouncing your way, figuring out the long grind that it is to go from the start of the playoffs to winning a title, all those things are very difficult. You gotta be able to go through all that stuff.”
“I don’t really vibrate on the frequency of the past”
“To me, when we get into a chance to start digging into this thing a little bit, it’s going to be only focused on what we’re trying to do going forward. It doesn’t matter. Whatever’s happened for the last how many whatever years, it doesn’t matter.” via SixersWire
Man, I really did like what Nick Nurse was spitting at his press conference.
This guy is the real deal and knows damn well that the Sixers have dealt with their fair share of bad luck in the playoffs, whether that’s due to injuries to Joel Embiid or even a few basketballs bouncing all over in Toronto, where he used to coach.
The “I don’t really vibrate on the frequency of the past” quote had me ready to log on to Spotify and put on the newest mixtape from Nurse.
As the kids say when listening to rap music nowadays, those were absolute BARS.

We even decided to make a t-shirt in honor of the quote, but ultimately landed on this picture instead.

Don’t ask us how or why we got to this point because just like Nurse, we don’t vibrate on the frequency of the past, baby.
