Preview: Phillies look for fifth-straight win in series finale vs. Detroit Tigers at 6:05 EST

The Philadelphia Phillies look to complete a series sweep tonight at 6:05 EST vs. the Detroit Tigers.
Starting Pitchers
- Tyler Holton (0-0, 2.32 ERA)
- Zack Wheeler (4-4, 4.33 ERA)
Today’s game was originally scheduled for last night, but the air quality in Philadelphia due to the Canadian wildfires gave the league no choice but to postpone the game. The Yankees vs. White Sox game was also canceled last night, along with today’s Nationals game at 1:05 down in D.C.
Even though yesterday’s game was postponed, Brandon Marsh, an expert Call of Duty Zombies player, was ready to go.
Tuesday night’s game did result in a win for the Fightins, as a solo Schwarbomb was the only run of the night, which came. in the bottom of the 1st inning.
Kyle Schwarber has started to heat up since the beginning of June, hitting .250 with a .667 slugging percentage and three homers. Schwarber also has six hits and 7 RBIs with five walks over his last 7 games.
Taijuan Walker threw his best start of the season last night, going seven scoreless innings while allowing two hits and striking out eight. Walker is now down to a 2.67 ERA at Citizens Bank Park and had his best stuff going on Tuesday night. He sat around 94-96 on his fastball while his splitter was working as best as it has this entire season.
Seranthony Dominguez continued to dominate, and Craig Kimbrel struck out the side in the 9th inning to secure the series victory for the Fightins. Dominguez has not allowed an earned run since May 23rd, while Craig Kimbrel now holds a 1.42 ERA at home.
Now 29-32 on the season, the Phillies look for their fifth-straight win against a Tigers offense that has really struggled this season. Detroit has logged just five hits in their two games in Philly, and if it wasn’t for a Nick Maton nuke off of Aaron Nola, they’d be scoreless through their last 23 innings.
Phillies Starting Lineup
Tyler Holton vs. Zack Wheeler
Tyler Holton will make his first start of the season tonight for Detroit after the Tigers flipped around their rotation due to the new off day. Holton has appeared in 17 games out of the bullpen for the Tigers, holding an 0.8 WAR and 2.32 ERA in 31 innings with 23 Ks.
Zack Wheeler is coming off his worst start of the season in Washington, allowing eight hits and seven earned runs in just three and two-thirds. Wheeler holds a 4-4 record on the year with a 4.33 ERA and 79 Ks.
