ICYMI: Tyson Foerster has made the 2022-23 AHL’s Top Prospect team

Tyson Foerster slips under the radar. In a fanbase that spends its time daydreaming about Cutter Gauthier and the upcoming 7th overall pick, it can be easy to forget about this goalscoring machine who has now made the AHL’s Top Prospect team.

Foerster is one of those “COVID prospects” that bursted onto the scene scoring 17 points in 24 games in the AHL directly after being drafted. Everything was trending well until an injury derailed his rocket path to the NHL.
Since then the bounce back has been strong. He scored 48 points in 66 games this season for the Phantoms and showed out in his 8 game NHL stint.

He’s the only Flyer I’ve seen make John Tortorella smile. Seriously, you can tell the organization has a lot of hope for Tyson Foerster and rightfully so.

In the next coming years I fully expect Foerster to stamp his place in the NHL and on the next core of the Philadelphia Flyers. He’ll get prime opportunities to get playing time and keep his development rolling.
For years this market has starved for a sniper and have definitely lacked prospects with ceilings like the ones now.
And well… it looks like we have multiple.
Now we wait for the day they arrive.
Screw it.
