Thursdays Best Home Run Picks, MLB Picks & Predictions 6.8

The NBA stays hot, going 2-0 on our NBA picks yesterday, so now let’s change gears and start a similar hot streak with the MLB.
Read our best home run picks for today below.
Max Muncy to Hit a HR | +330 at FanDuel
This Dodgers/Reds series remains one of the juiciest games of the slate when it comes to home runs being hit, thanks to the weather and ballpark dimensions of the Reds stadium. For that reason, we are backing Muncy to go yard tonight.
Muncy himself is on somewhat of a mini-slump (for his standards), having not hit a home run in his past four games, two of which were against the Reds in juicy weather games. If we are being honest, there’s no shot Muncy makes it through this entire series without hitting a dinger for us.
On the mound for the Reds is Graham Ashcraft, who is a righty, which is good news for us as Muncy is significantly better against right-handed pitchers than he is lefties. Ashcraft himself is also susceptible to giving up the long ball, as he has given up 9 on the year. Look for Muncy to cash one for us tonight.

Ronald Acuna Jr. to Hit a HR | +300 at FanDuel
On the surface, this game has the makings of a pitcher’s duel with Justin Verlander on the mound of the Mets and Spencer Strider for the Braves. With that said, since we are backing a Braves batter, let’s dive into the matchup against Verlander.
Verlander hasn’t quite been himself, at least so far to start this year. Admittedly, his last start was one of his best of the year, going six innings and only giving up one run to the Blue Jays, but it’s still been a rough year overall for Verlander. In his last start prior to that he got shelled by the Rockies, so he has yet to show any sustained success this year.
In six starts this season, Verlander has given up at least one home run in four of them and multiple home runs in two of them. Acuna has yet to face Verlander in his career, but Acuna is having an all-star caliber season, hitting .331 with 12 home runs on the year. After tonight, that home run number will be higher.
