WATCH: Section of I-95 collapses in Northeast Philadelphia after tanker truck catches fire under overpass

A huge tanker truck caught fire underneath an overpass on I-95 this morning in Northeast Philadelphia causing a portion of the major highway to collapse.
The tanker truck caught fire under an overpass between Exit 25 for Allegheny Avenue/Castor Avenue and Exit 32 for Academy Road/Linden Avenue.
The partial collapse of the roadway happened after a tanker truck fire started underneath the overpass and spread to the above lanes. Several explosions and a ton of black smoke filled the area with WPVI-TV reporting that manhole covers were seen exploding.

All traffic on I-95 has been shut down and according to reports, it could remain that way for an extended period of time while crews continue to “work the area”.
Philadelphia City Managing Director Tumar Alexander: “I-95 will be impacted for a long time, for a long time.”
Emergency Management: The northbound highway “is gone…. Not sure about the southbound.”
If you drive on 95 as a part of your daily commute to work, you already know that this is the worst news possible. I-95 is constantly under construction already and with an entire chunk of it collapsing, trying to get to the northeast is going to be an absolute shit show for the foreseeable future.
