Mets collapse in the 8th, Phillies comeback to win 6-7

The Philadelphia Phillies took 2-of-3 from the New York Mets over the weekend, winning yesterday’s game after a wild eighth inning that resulted in four runs scored on a throwing error, a walk, and two hit batters.
Trea Turner showed everyone yesterday why he was worth every penny of the $300 million contract he signed entering this season.
Trea Turner Home Run (8) Bottom of the 1st
In the bottom of the third inning, Turner singled to left field which scored Edmundo Sosa. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Turner walked, stole second and third, and then scored on a throwing error from Mets catch Omar Narvaez.
Turner’s final stat line yesterday: HR, BB, HBP, 3 RBI, 2 R, 2 SB
Even with Turner running all over the baseball field, the Phillies struggled to make things happen throughout the first seven innings of the game. Zack Wheeler struggled yesterday, lasting 5.1 innings, allowing nine hits, five earned runs, and two walks while striking out eight.Â
Luckily for the Phillies, disaster struck for the New York Mets in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Entering the inning down three runs, the Phillies managed to take the lead thanks to a throwing error, a walk, and two hit batters. They scored four runs while only managing to get one hit in the inning.Â
