Phillies extend road winning streak to 11 games following 8-4 win over Tampa Bay

The Philadelphia Phillies kept things rolling on the road last night with an 8-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, making their 11th straight win away from Citizens Bank Park.Â
Last night’s game was somewhat of a rollercoaster game for the Phillies, but every time the Rays put runs on the board, The Fightins responded, earning only the SECOND series win from an opposing team against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field this season.Â
Taijuan Walker was on the mound and ran into some trouble early, allowing a 2 RBI double to Brandon Lowe in the bottom of the first inning which scored Yandy Diaz and Randy Arozarena.
On the night, Walker tossed 7 innings, allowing five hits, four earned runs, and five walks while striking out eight.
Walker has now won six straight starts and the Phillies improved to 13-3 over his last 16 games.
After a slow start to the season, the Phillies newest member of their starting rotation will end the first half of the season 10-3 with a 4.02 ERA.Â
Luckily for Walker, the Phillies always had an answer at the plate last night.
Alec Bohm singled on a line drive to center field in the top of the second to score JT Realmuto, and Darick Hall tied the game 2-2 with an RBI single of his own to score Bryson Stott.
The Rays answered in the bottom half of the inning, taking ht lead on a Francisco Mejia single to right field that scored Taylor Walls.
JT Realmuto then singled on a line drive to centerfield to score Bryce Harper in the top of the third inning to tie the game 3-3.
Luke Raley then hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third to give Tampa Bay the lead yet again at 4-3.
From there, the Phillies took over.
Trea Turner hit a home run to left field to tie the game 4-4.
Bryson Stott, who was 4-for-5 from the plate last night with an RBI and two runs scored, gave the Phillies the lead on a single that scored Realmuto.
Nick Castellanos, right as Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram launched a competitor platform to Twitter called Threads (follow TLL here), then murdered a baseball to deep center field to extend the Phillies lead to 6-4.Â
Brandon Marsh added two more runs in the top of the seventh inning on a line drive to right field that scored Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott.
