TMZ releases new photos, Victor Wembanyama addresses Britney Spears getting slapped by security, as the pop superstar takes to Twitter to discuss her ‘traumatic experience’

I’m sure you’ve heard by now, but there was an incident the other night at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas at Catch restaurant, where pop icon Britney Spears attempted to approach NBA future superstar Victor Wembanyama for a picture.
Spears approached Wemby, attempting to “tap him on the shoulder” to get his attention for a picture, which resulted in things getting physical with Wemby’s security team. Spears was “slapped” in the face by Wemby’s security guard, which resulted in her falling to the ground and her glasses knocked off her face.
A police report getting filed because of the altercation.

Okay so here’s a few things on this entire incident.
Britney Spears is 41 years old and has a long history of erratic behavior. Sorry. You can be mad, but that matters because of the way she has handled this entire incident. It’s also true and “oops” it looks like Britney “did it again.”
(just warming up, hang tight)
Approaching 19-year old Victor Wembanyama from behind as he AND Spears are being swarmed with fans in Las Vegas was just an insane way to handle the situation to begin with.
“Tapping him on the shoulder” to get his attention is a wild move and something that Spears herself should have known was not the proper way to get anyone’s attention when you are in the celebrity spotlight.
Obviously, no one wants to see anyone get slapped in the face but you have to think about the “heat of the moment” and what Wemby’s security team was likely dealing with while walking through the lobby of the Aria Hotel.
According to reports, it appears Spears did in fact walk back to her table after “composing herself” and the security guard who slapped her walked over to apologize directly, saying “you understand how it is when you’re being swarmed by fans.”
I will say, the reasoning that “Wemby’s security guard didn’t know it was Britney Spears.” is pretty weak. Security should be doing everything possible to deescalate a situation and not use violence in the “heat of the moment. You simply cannot react like that and just slap someone, man or woman.
Wemby was asked Thursday about his perspective on the situation
“Something did happen, a little bit, when I was walking with some security of the team to some restaurant. We were in a hall. There was a lot of people, so people calling me obviously. There was one person who was calling me, but we talked before with the security — [they told me] don’t stop, because it’s going to make a crowd. So I couldn’t stop. That person grabbed me from behind,” Wembanyama explained.
Wembanyama said Spurs security had prepared him by instructing him not to stop, so he followed their advice.
“I didn’t see what happened because I was walking straight. But that person grabbed me from behind. I just know that security pushed her away. I don’t know with how much force though, but security pushed her away,” Wembanyama said.
He was asked whether he knew the woman in question was Spears.
“I didn’t know for a couple hours. But when I came back to the hotel … turns out it was Britney Spears. I didn’t know because I never saw her face.”
Okay so outside of the fact that this entire thing literally has nothing to do with Wemby, the entire thing should have been resolved privately.
Instead, Spears filed a police report and wrote a lengthly explanation on Twitter about the incident, calling it a “traumatic experience” while also acknowledging that she herself has been swarmed by fans and how hectic those situations can be at times.
Britney Spears addresses the incident on Twitter
This really isn’t a physical violence situation as Spears claimed and as Britney once claimed herself…
“I’M NOT THAT INNOCENT.”
(proud of that one)
Yes, she was slapped but context matters and she fails to even mention that this 19-year old kid from France is in America for the first time and all of this is completely new to him. If Britney Spears wanted to get a picture with Wemby, she should have had her team reach out to his team and schedule a meet. That seems more reasonable, and we could have avoided this entire mess completely.
