Delco Gator Report: A masked man jumped into Darby Creek last night and grabbed an alligator

Delco Gator Sighting: A two-foot alligator was spotted in the Darby Creek in Upper Darby on Tuesday night at Penn Pines Park near Providence Road.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission responded to the scene, but Upper Darby police said the gator was on the move, heading in the direction of Yeadon. The Delaware County police radio picked up the call about the gator and Joe Holden of CBS Philadelphia obtained the audio.

“Somebody just jumped into the river on the Yeadon side with a mask on, grabbed the alligator and is now running back down that trail towards Providence, so I’ll be watching back there to see where he’s going,”
Honestly, I’ve been writing about alligators in the Philly area for quite some time on The Liberty Line. I know it may seem crazy but there’s a lot of people who think they can properly take care of these large reptiles.
Back in April, an 8-foot alligator named Big Mack had to be rescued from a row home in Northeast Philadelphia after the owners ex-wife said she no longer wanted it living in their basement.
Before that, ACCT Philly reported that they had to have a caiman, which they named Cay Man, euthanized after he was found in FDR Park.
The only difference in this situation is the Alligator Hunter.
Hopefully, the masked crusader jumped into the “river” (Darby Creek) to save the gator from suffering the same fate as our friends Big Mack and Cay Man did earlier this year.
I’m not sure why this guy was wearing a mask and jumping into Darby Creek trying to get this gator. Maybe it escaped captivity and our unlikely hero is actually the villain in this story, but we’ll have to wait and see if we have any other reports about the gator and mystery man before jump to conclusions.
Also, I’m not going to give you the “Only in Delco hahahaha” nonsense that people reply with on social media like a bunch of robots. So please, if you want the corny Delco jokes, go elsewhere.
Out here in Glen Mills, PA (Delco) we treat our county with a sense of pride and integrity.
