Vlad Jr won the Home Run Derby at T-Mobile Park in Seattle and during the final round against Randy Arozarena he nailed a kid in the head with a line drive to left field.

Cheers to this kid. Took one straight off the head and was out there the next day ready to rock. He even had his baseball bag with him in the video above. I bet if Rob Thomson offered to play him in the outfield, he would have suited up in a heartbeat.
No Days Off.
This is great news. After the entire internet was making fun of this kid, turns out he did in fact just get a nasty bump on his head and ended up looking like Smalls from the Sandlot after all.

Best possible outcome. You can’t have kids fielding during the HR Derby and a serious injury happen. That would have been bad for the game of baseball and for the kid, obviously.
Now the only thing that’s left is for Major League Baseball to go back to the old HR Derby format and make it watchable again.
Drew Smith, you advertise yourself as the kind of person who doesn’t care about the opinions of others. Sad.
why would I care about anyone’s opinions and why would that be sad
