USA Basketball, Grant Hill has spoken to Joel Embiid about joining Team USA in Paris for the 2024 Olympics

USA Basketball managing director Grant Hill was on SiriusXM NBA Radio yesterday and talked about the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and specifically the possibility of Joel Embiid joining America’s roster.
Joel Embiid to join Team USA?
Last September, Joel Embiid secured his US Citizenship and in an interview with the Associated Press, said that his growing family was the pivotal factor in his decision.
“I’ve been here for a long time..my son is American. I felt like, I’m living here and it’s a blessing to be an American. So I said, why not?”
That sparked the idea about joining Team USA for international competition. Before he obtained US Citizenship, there was a possibility that he could play for the French national team.
Joel Embiid Dual Citizenship
As far as Olympic play goes, France and the U.S. have two of the top men’s basketball teams and obviously, either team would jump at the idea of adding Embiid at center.
I want Joel Embiid playing for Team USA. Let him get out there and play in international competition against the best in the world and hopefully, find some success in a “playoff atmosphere” for the first time in his career.
