WATCH: Mac McClung complimented a kid wearing his jersey at Hershey Park, but the kid didn’t realize it was him

Mac McClung was featured on a YouTube vlog taking a trip to Hershey Park and ran into a kid wearing his No. 9 Sixers jersey.
Danny Cooper, an NBA Player Development coach and content creator, posted the video earlier this week on his YouTube channel, which you can watch in full below.
Mac McClung passed by a kid wearing a Mac McClung jersey while walking through the park. He shouted over to the kid, saying “I like your jersey, bro” and the kid nonchalantly responded saying “thanks” as he kept walking through the crowd of people.
Someone in McClung’s crew then chased down the kid and brought back with his mom where he introduced himself as the guy whose name was on the back on the Sixers jersey.

I absolutely love it. I bet you thought I was going to rip this kid, right? Not today, haters.
Being Mac McClung and seeing your jersey out in public while you’re on a random day trip to Hershey Park might be the coolest thing ever for a young, rising NBA player.
Shout out to McClung for getting to enjoy this moment.

According to the mother, after McClung said he liked the jersey, the two kids walking together and both wearing jerseys, didn’t know which jersey he was complimenting. They started fighting over which jersey was getting praise from a “random” dude at Hershey Park.
Mac McClung Jersey Compliment Choices:
- Mac McClung: No. 9 Philadelphia 76ers Jersey
- Kobe Bryant: No. 33 Lower Merion Jersey
The options were Mac McClung’s 76ers Jersey and Kobe Bryant’s Lower Merion Jersey and honestly, I understand the confusion from the mother and kids.
I literally see no difference between the two as McClung and Bryant are both NBA legends.
When I opened up a new post to write about this, I was skeptical at first that this kid or his mother even knew who Mac McClung was. The mom said she bought it as a birthday gift for her son, which initially made me think that this was one of the jersey gifts I used to get as a kid.
Example: My grandmom bought me a Drew Bledsoe jersey because we both share the first name Drew. For the record, I never even put it on. Go Birds.
However, after shocking the world and taking home the Slam Dunk Contest last February during NBA All-Star weekend, it’s pretty clear as to why McClung is seeing a more than a few of his Sixers’ jerseys being worn by kids out in public and there’s more than a few pictures of him signing jerseys for kids, so again, I’ll give the Hershey Park family a pass on this one.
Mac McClung Signing Kids Jersey’s

I do have one small comment to make. Sorry I just can’t help myself.
My only critique would be to have the kid to a better handshake or high five.
After watching him hold up his hand like that to McClung, it was all I could think about.
Get a look at this handshake, or high five, or whatever you want to call it. Brutal.
It was like he was taking McClung’s hand in marriage or showing off his wedding ring, all while his boy is over there rocking an untucked Kobe jersey with a headband, ready to ride some rollercoasters.

That’s my only critique. I think that’s fair, right? Everything else is a nice heartfelt story.
Cheers to Mac McClung for taking the time to grab the kid and sign his jersey. That’s a story he’ll be telling everyone at school after Summer break.
