Michael Lorenzen throws 14th no hitter in Philadelphia Phillies franchise history

Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Michael Lorenzen threw a no-hitter tonight against the Washington Nationals in just his second start since joining the club at the MLB Trade Deadline. 

Lorenzen pitched a 124-pitch masterclass which resulted in a no hitter and first complete game of his career. He struck out five and walked four, throwing 76 of 124 pitches for strikes while inducing 12 fly-ball outs.

There have been a total of 14 no hitters thrown in Phillies franchise history. Lorenzen becomes the first Phillies pitcher since recently retired Cole Hamels threw a no hitter in 2015.
