The Philadelphia 76ers finally returned to the basketball court last night, beating the Washington Wizards…

NBA Rumors: Sixers on the verge of a Jrue Holiday Trade?
According to Kyle Neubeck, the Sixers are interested in trying to acquire Jrue Holiday, per a source familiar with their thinking.
This, of course, is coming off the Milwaukee Bucks completely taking the NBA world by storm as they swooped in and acquired Damian Lillard from the Portland Trailblazers in a 3-team deal that sent Jrue Holiday to the Blazers.
Jrue Holiday back in a Sixers uniform would be fantastic
It makes a ton of sense for Holiday to be rerouted to another team, as Portland is going through a rebuild and focused on developing Scoot Henderson and Anfernee Simons.
So, Holiday’s services would be much better served on a contending team such as the Sixers. Philly has had their eyes on Holiday for quite some time, and he’s certainly a great all-around player, averaging 19.3 points, 7.4 assists, and 5.1 rebounds, all while being a 38.4% three-point shooter last season.
Now, you ask yourself, what would it take for the Sixers to land Jrue Holiday? Here’s what Jackson Frank of ThePhillyVoice had to say about it.
“The Sixers have a clear path to matching Holiday’s $36.8 million salary, with Tobias Harris owed $39.2 million this upcoming season. Harris could bolster Portland’s frontcourt, and a first-round pick may prove enticing enough to facilitate negotiations. As Neubeck noted, Holiday should have plenty of suitors and is well-regarded around the league. But a package of Harris and a first may at least jam Philadelphia’s foot into the door of trade talks.“
Considering the Sixer’s assets are aging veterans with large deals, it seems the chances of this happening are very low. But the 3-team trade market could make this a sneaky suitor for a Holiday trade.
(Sixers) Joel Embiid Regular Season MVP Odds 2023-24 | +650 on DraftKings
Following the Dame trade, I’d imagine Giannis’s MVP odds have gone up and Embiid’s have gone down. As a fellow bettor myself, it feels like an opportunity here to lock up some NBA futures on DraftKings, once they are updated.

To conclude, I wanted to go out on a limb here and get something off my chest. While I completely understand all the criticism Joel Embiid has received this offseason, I still stand by the MVP and franchise cornerstone.
