WATCH: Joel Embiid joined Bryce Harper in a now Philly signature “Slice Throat” celebration last night at Citizens Bank Park
Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey were both in attendance for Game 4 of the NLDS between the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves last night at Citizens Bank Park.
Embiid was in the mix, sitting down in the Diamond Club on the lower level, rocking a red pinstripe Phillies’ Bryce Harper jersey and waving his Red October rally towel.

There’s a ton of chatter about how bad it must suck for the person sitting behind Embiid in the Diamond Club given the fact that Joel stands a lofty seven-feet tall, but I can’t get on board with that.
Listen, I’m 6’3” and it’s hard being incredibly tall events and catering to all the short people who happen to find a seat or spot to stand behind me. Personally, I do my best to make sure I’m aware who’s situated around me because I’m a gentleman, however standing behind Joel Embiid at Citizens Bank Park while he’s wearing a Bryce Harper jersey for NLDS Game 4 is a non-issue.
In fact, it’s an honor.
Anyways, Embiid was also caught on the broadcast doing the signature Bryce Harper “Slice Throat” celly which had national media members and the Braves broadcasters in absolute shambles during Game 3.

Absolutely love it. Soak it all in Big Fella. This is what it’s like in Philadelphia when your team is actually performing up to expectations. Rock that Bryce Harper jersey, the most clutch athlete ever to wear a Philly sports uniform. Check out Nick Castellanos and Trea Turner who bounced back from adversity time and time again.
Welcome to the Moment
- The Philadelphia Phillies are back in the NLCS.
- The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-0.
- The Philadelphia Flyers are 1-0. (lol)
- The Philadelphia Union are (probably) in the playoffs.
Where the hell are the Philadelphia 76ers?
Well hopefully, Embiid continues to soak in Red October in the Diamond Club for the rest of this postseason run and learns a thing or two from The Fightins.
We can keep Tyrese Maxey up top in the box safe and sound, taking it all in from above.
