Local Heroes: On a cold Wednesday morning, Eagles fans stood outside the NovaCare Training Complex with a ‘Run The Ball’ sign
Good morning, Philadelphia. This is a quick reminder that not all heroes wear capes. In a picture posted on Twitter this morning, Eagles fans were standing outside the NovaCare Training Complex with a sign that read “Run the Ball.”

Okay so obviously, even after getting embarrassed by the San Francisco 49ers at home last Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles have the best record in the NFL at 10-2 but you’d be lying to yourself if you think there aren’t some glaring issues with this football as we march into the final stretch of the 2023-24 regular season.
Philadelphia Eagles Rushing Attempts/Yards vs San Francisco 49ers
- Jalen Hurts: 7 RSH, 20 YDS, 2.9 AVG, 7 LNG, TD
- D’Andre Swift: 6 RSH, 13 YDS, 2.2 AVG, 4 LNG
- Marcus Mariota: 2 RSH, 6 YDS, 3 AVG, 5 LNG
- Kenny Gainwell: 2 RSH, 5 YDS, 2.5 AVG, 3 LNG
- Boston Scott: 1 RSH, 2 YDS, 2 AVG, 2 LNG
- Total: 18 RSH, 46 YDS, TD
So yeah, I think it’s pretty safe to say that Brian Johnson and the Eagles’ offense needs a new game plan outside of fly-routes and The Brotherly Shove. The vibes are just off with this offense and have been pretty much the entire season. There’s clearly an issue with Johnson recognizing the “feel of the game” and whatever he thinks he’s doing in terms of execution is simply not working.
So let’s raise a glass (of coffee) this morning to our heroes delivering the message that’s screamed throughout Lincoln Financial Field and at televisions across the Philadelphia area every Sunday.
RUN THE BALL
