Unleash the Giant Killer: Boston Scott could be the key to success with two games left to play against NFC East rivals

With just three weeks remaining in the 2023-24 NFL regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles will host the New York Giants on Christmas Day in a Week 16 matchup between NFC East rivals.

While the Eagles are still 10-4 on the season and in the hunt to win the NFC East and secure the No. 2 seed in the playoffs behind the 49ers, this team has looked really bad over the past three weeks and to date, there’s no reason to believe that anything will change over the final three weeks of the regular season.

Luckily, the remaining games on the Eagles schedule are relatively easy.

  • December 25th: Giants at Eagles (4:30PM)
  • December 31st: Cardinals at Eagles (1:00PM)
  • January 7th: Eagles at Giants (TBD)

That’s a beautiful stretch to “get right” while the Dallas Cowboys, who are also in contention to win the NFC East, have to play the Dolphins this week on the road before closing out the season against the Lions (home) and Commanders (road).

With two games remaining against NFC East “rival” New York Giants, the Eagles have the perfect opportunity to unleash their secret weapon that goes by the name “Giant Killer”.

The Giant Killer: Boston Scott

Boston Scott has 86 total carries for 414 yards and 10 touchdowns over 8 games against the New York Giants in his career. Scott also added 17 receptions for 222 yards and one touchdown.

To keep it as simple as possible, Boston Scott has NEVER played against the Giants without scoring a touchdown.

For whatever reason, Scott just loves beating up on the New York Giants so will Brian Johnson and the Eagles’ coaching staff actually utilize the “Giant Killer” Boston Scott on Monday?

Well, that’s certainly a major question mark heading into Week 16. On the season, Scott has only has 16 carries for a total of 78 yards. Through the air, he has four receptions for 52 yards. So we’ll just have to wait to see how the Eagles will use Scott over the final three weeks of the regular season is certainly up for debate.

Along with Scott, the Eagles as a team have absolutely dominated the New York Giants really for the past decade. The Giants are a 5-9 on the season. The Eagles are 24-6 against the G-Men in their last 30 meetings while Nick Sirianni specifically has posted a 3-0 record against Giants’ head coach Brian Daboll.
