Owen Tippett with the NHL goal of the year and Flyers new locker room song will have you believing hockey is BACK in Philadelphia
The Philadelphia Flyers have now won five straight games. They are in second place in the Metro Division and absolutely destroyed the Dallas Stars last night, winning 5-1 while out-shooting them 43-15.
In what was expected to be a down year for the Flyers, they are easily a Top 10…no fuck it, Top 5 team in the NHL.
The early-season concerns that this team would fall off after Christmas have been completely erased. Torts and company are cruising right now and maybe…just maybe, it’s enough to lift the city of Philadelphia out of eternal sports hell over the next few months.
Last night, Owen Tippett scored twice and might have delivered the NHL Goal of the Year with this ridiculous spin move for the score.
Owen Tippett: NHL Goal of the Year
Honestly, I don’t think I have ever seen such a pretty goal from a Philadelphia Flyers hockey player.
Shoutout Owen Tippett. Pretty much everyone (including myself) was pretty quick to dismiss him as just a part of Danny B’s “rebuild” and not a valuable piece to a contending NHL roster. Two years of nothing in Florida and now he has made his way to Philly and can easily be a 30+ goal scorer this season.
