
Joel Embiid credits Anthony Edwards for self alley-oop vs Magic, says he wants to be like him when he grows up
Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers dominated the Orlando Magic on Friday night, winning 124-109 to kick off a short, two-game road trip.
Embiid scored 36 points on 12-of-22 shooting from the floor with seven rebounds and four steals. Maxey scored 32 points on 10-of-20 shooting with five assists.
It marked the 19th-straight game where Joel Embiid scored 30+ points and his performance was highlighted by an off the backboard slam with just under five minutes left in the first half.
Embiid scored 28 points at HALFTIME against the Magic on 10-of-14 shooting from the floor while handing the game over to Maxey in the second half. Reese scored 7 of his 15 second half points to keep Embiid on the bench for the final frame.
Following the game, Embiid spoke on his self alley-oop dunk giving a shoutout to Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards who did the same thing the night before.
