Tobias Harris to miss 1-2 games due to left knee bruise

Tobias Harris has been diagnosed with a “bad” bruise in his left knee after undergoing an MRI today in Miami and is expected to miss one or two games according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Timeline of Tobias Harris’ injury

Harris was originally listed as questionable for Philadelphia’s game against the Miami Heat tonight and participated in the 76ers’ shoot-around this morning along with Joel Embiid (knee) and Tyrese Maxey (hip).

The 76er forward was ruled out of tonight’s game a few hours before the 7:30 tip-off and reportedly sustained a knee bruise in the final two minutes of Philadelphia’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday via Keith Pompey.

Implications of Tobias Harris’ injury

Without Tobias Harris, the 76ers will be short-handed tonight in a game that could determine their fate in the Eastern Conference standings as Philadelphia is 1.5 games behind Miami (6th) and Indiana (7th) in their quest to avoid the play-in tournament.

Harris was coming off a strong performance in Philadelphia’s win over Oklahoma City where he contributed 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, on 5-8 shooting from the perimeter.

Tobias Harris will miss his ninth game of the season, which ties the most games he’s missed in a season since 2019-2020 throughout his tenure as a 76er.

Harris is averaging 17.2 points per game, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game on 48.6% shooting from the field this season.
