
Bryce Harper heads to the paternity list, will miss the start of Phillies 10-game road trip
The Philadelphia Phillies will be without Bryce Harper as the begin a 10-game road trip tonight in Cincinnati.
Prior to tonight’s game, the Phillies announced that Bryce Harper and his wife Kayla are expecting their third child. With Harper out over the next ew days, the Phillies recalled Kody Clemens from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Note: According to MLB rules, Harper can miss no more than three games on the paternity list, so he will be back on the active roster no later than Thursday’s series finale in Cincy.

Last season at the MLB level, Clemens hit .230 with a .644 OPS over 47 games. He will start tonight at first base against the Reds.
Much like the rest of the Philadelphia Phillies lineup, Harper started the 2024 season ice cold but has returned to norm ever since he crushed three home runs against the Reds on April 2nd.
Since that game, Harper is batting .279 with four homers, 14 RBI and an .874 OPS. He’s now batting .241 with 4 home runs and a .773 OPS.
