WATCH: Tyrese Maxey turns into Michael Jordan; sinks logo three that forces overtime and an eventual thrilling Sixers win

The stuff that makes legends. That is what we saw on display in the closing seconds of the regular in Sixers vs. Knicks game 5. Tyrese Maxey, the NBA’s Most Improved Player, completely ripped the hearts out of the New York fans in Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks, who were leading the series 3-1 and had a 6-point lead with under 30 seconds left, had this in the bag. Tyrese Maxey pulled his best Reggie Miller impression to force overtime.

Then with 8 seconds left on the clock, Maxey pulled up from the logo to tie the game at 97-97 and send the game to overtime.

Brunson further showcased his readiness to belong among the best names in the NBA with an outstanding performance, tallying 40 points, six assists, three rebounds, and three steals. However, ultimately, this wasn’t enough to keep up with the elite guard in the other uniform.

Tyrese finished the game with an impressive 46 points, nine assists, and five rebounds. His unconscious shooting, going 17 of 30 from the field and 7 of 12 from beyond the arc, was pivotal. Notably, his clutch three-pointers in regulation saved the game, and he continued his momentum by igniting Philadelphia’s 9-0 run in overtime with another crucial shot.

As a Villonva fan, I honestly believe this series has been torture. I’m actively rooting against former Wildcats because I need the Sixers to beat the Knicks. Let’s not kid ourselves here; if Maxey got Brunson’s whistle, he’d be regarded as the better player.
