Ben Simmons shows up to Met Gala in ridiculously hilarious costume

Sometimes, our articles just write themselves. Former 76er Ben Simmons has provided us with several of these moments. At Monday’s Met Gala event, he came through once again.

For some reason, Simmons was invited to attend Met Gala. I truthfully don’t even know what the event is and I’m not going to look it up — not even for the sake of this article.

He showed up in a costume that’s truly indescribable. It’s something you just have to look at and take in for yourself.

I could pick apart the outfit all day, but the only question anyone should be asking, is why the fuck is Ben Simmons even at this thing? He’s kind of just another guy nowadays. However, in the world of pop culture, that doesn’t even really matter. As long as you have the name, I guess you get the invite.

Simmons, allegedly, has had chronic back problems for three years now. He appeared in 15 games last season and only 42 the year prior. What are you doing at Met Gala. My brother in christ — go to physical therapy your team needs you.

At this point, it’s clear that Simmons is more interested in the celebrity life. He’s in the NBA for what it brings him off the court. Sad.
