David Dahl Cycle

WATCH: Phillies’ David Dahl hits for the cycle in Iron Pigs 4-3 over Norfolk, needed just seven innings to do it

Philadelphia Phillies minor league outfielder David Dahl needed just seven innings to hit for the cycle in Wednesday’s IronPigs game against the Norfolk Tides – the Triple A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.

David Dahl hit a solo home run in the first inning, an RBI double in the third, a single in the fifth, and a triple in the seventh to complete the cycle. On the day, he drove in two runs and gave Lehigh Valley a much needed 4-3 victory.

Dahl became just the third player to ever complete the cycle in an Iron Pig uniform, joining Michael Taylor (2009) and Maikel Franco (2014).

Okay so who’s David Dahl again…?

After four seasons with Colorado, three decent and one poor, David Dahl has not found a consistent home in professional baseball. He spent some time in Texas during the 2021 season, didn’t play at all in 2022, and only appeared in four games with the Padres organization in 2023.

Now 30-years old and playing for the IronPigs in Triple A Lehigh Valley, Dahl is hitting .333 with an OBP of .408, four homers, and 10 RBIs. He also holds .960 OPS and is slugging .552.

Obviously, a lot would need to happen in order for Dahl to find himself on the Phillies‘ major league roster this season but there’s always a chance he can hang around and hope for a September call-up.
