Tristian Casas Sunday Night Baseball Interview

WATCH: Triston Casas tells story about his dad going to jail during broadcast of ESPN Sunday Night Baseball on Father’s Day

Triston Casas delivered one of the most wild in-game interviews during ESPN’s broadcast of Sunday Night Baseball between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.

Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas shared a story about his father getting arrested following an incident at one of his Little League Baseball games nearly two decades ago.

The Boston Red Sox were leading the New York Yankees 3-1 at Fenway in the bottom of the fourth inning as they cut to Triston Casas for a quick interview.

It was Father’s Day, so I think everyone watching was expecting a heartfelt story about their dads but instead, Casas went another route by telling a story of his dad getting arrested at one of his Little League games.

After a poor at-bat during a Little League game was Casas was only 6-years old, he refused to go back out on the field and play defense. Instead, he just sat there crying in the dugout, so his father decided to go grab his son and basically drag him back out onto the field to play defense.

“My dad, being the dad that he is, trying to teach me the lessons that he did in his own special way, came into the dugout,” said Triston. “He actually grabbed me by the shirt, dragged me to the line, and Looney Tunes-style kicked me out onto the field. …

[My teammate’s] mom actually called child services on my dad and had him arrested at the field. … I see my dad go away in the cop car, gets arrested, spent the night in jail.”

Somehow, Casas managed to tie it all in and made it a memory that he recalled fondly, relating it back to being a good teammate and always being ready to have their backs rather than abandoning them because of a rough day at the plate.

Honestly, I enjoyed it.

Triston Casas’ interview was was much better than the typical in-game interview on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball which typically come off uninteresting and annoying.

Not to mention, as someone who had broken their arm and left foot twice, while injuring myself and taking trips to the hospital on countless occasions, along with my two brothers growing up, having other parents or medical professionals think it was your mom or dad rather than just the kids being complete idiots, was actually a relatable story.

Give me all the wild stories.
