Sixers fans, get excited! GM Daryl Morey brought one of his former 1st round draft picks in for a free agent workout and tryout

The day after the Boston Celtics won the NBA Finals, Philadelphia 76ers GM Daryl Morey is up to his old (bad) tricks again, with recent reports that his basketball team held a free agent workout and tryout with former first-round draft pick Sam Dekker.

Who’s Sam Dekker? Good question. In shocking news to absolutely no one, Dekker was originally drafted by Daryl Morey during his tenure with the Houston Rockets.

Sam Dekker is basically a bust. He’s played in 201 games and has averaged just 5.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Along with the Rockets, Dekker had stints with the Los Angeles Clippers, the Washington Wizards, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Toronto Raptors.

He took his talents overseas in 2019-20 and 2020-21 before signing with the Raptors, where he appeared in just one game during the 2021-22 season.

That will definitely get Sixers fans going. Keep up the good work, Daryl!
