Sixers News: Celtics fanboy Bill Simmons sounds off on Joel Embiid in yet another embarrassing take, which leaves many wondering if he even watched the Playoffs

Bill Simmons, the well-known sports “analyst” who is a biased Boston Celtics fan, commented on Sixers star Joel Embiid in the latest edition of his podcast for The Ringer.

For whatever reason, Embiid’s appearance on NBA Countdown before an NBA Finals game is unacceptable in the eyes of a bunch of losers in the media. We all know if the roles were reversed, Simmons wouldn’t have an issue with a Celtics player doing it. But since it’s a Sixers player who suddenly has to carry this dysfunctional franchise, it’s a problem.

Bill Simmons’s current stance on Joel Embiid

“I just feel like I’ve given up. You haven’t come through in one playoff series in your entire career, and I don’t even think you realize that. At some point, it might be you, you know how many excuses can we have?”

Somehow, the conversation during this podcast turned into whether or not Ben Simmons was actually a perfect fit alongside Joel Embiid. It’s worth noting that Ryen Russillo was a co-host on this episode, so it’s no shocker that the Sixers and Embiid hater, more specifically, would spew off such nonsense.

“Were he and Ben Simmons actually perfect teammates for lack of realization?” Russillo asked, prompting Simmons to consider the broader dynamics at play. “At some point, it might be you, you know how many excuses can we have,” Simmons said, suggesting that Embiid’s continued lack of postseason success may point to deeper, intrinsic issues.

For the full bullshit breakdown from Bill Simmons, you can skip ahead to the 49-minute mark of the podcast.

There’s so much wrong with what Simmons said, and he didn’t even stop there. He brought up Embiid somehow, ducking competition and proving he has no idea what he’s talking about. Does this guy not realize Embiid was playing through injuries and still led the 2024 NBA Playoffs in points per game?

Sixers center Joel Embiid dominated in the 2024 playoffs

Look, I get it if you’re frustrated as a Sixers fan or even want to point out past Embiid postseasons. But you can’t sit here and pretend like the big fellow didn’t erase many of those demons in this playoff series vs. the Knicks. He was the best two-way player on the floor and ran into a better, deeper team. Let’s not pretend the Sixers weren’t a play-in team just fighting for a playoff spot in the first place.
