FINALLY: Matvei Michkov is Coming.

Matvei Michkov Watch: It all started rather dully. I was minding my own business. Specifically, my phone was across the room while I worked on some final edits to a fictional novel I intend on publishing rather soon. It’s been a passion project of mine for a while. It’s pretty difficult to get me to completely throw it to the wayside.

After being fully locked in for a while, I decided to get up and cross the room for a brief check of my phone. I wanted to see if I had missed anything, expecting that the answer was no. And then I’d go back about my business.

It turns out… I had checked RIGHT ON TIME!

I clicked on a “you have been sent a post” direct message notification, and this is the post I was sent.

Yeah, I have officially thrown any editing responsibilities to the wayside for the next number of hours. Mostly because… HOLY SHIT, IT IS HAPPENING!

It all began rather cryptically. I’m glad I missed this phase of the news drop and I got to go right to the “it’s happening” stage. But I’m pointing this out because HockeyNewsHub deserves particular credit for being the absolute best source of information throughout this process.

As Elliotte says, nothing is done until it’s done. But we all know how Danny’s front office works. Getting a leak about anything, especially something of this magnitude, is worse than pulling teeth. If the leaks are sprung now?

It’s done. Michkov is on the plane. He’ll be in Philadelphia shortly, which aligns perfectly with the original date provided by Medvedev.

So as far as I’m concerned? COMMENCE THE CELEBRATIONS!
