WATCH: Nick Castellanos crushes a home run shortly after Joe Biden dropped out of presidential election, a list of significant dingers from the Phillies’ slugger dating back to 2020

Nick Castellanos strikes again: Yesterday, current President Joe Biden announced that he was going to dropout of the 2024 Presidential Election race.

The news of Biden dropping out was obviously major headlines across the world and a good chunk of baseball fans locked in on Castellanos and the Philadelphia Phillies as they were playing the Pirates, wrapping up a three-game series fresh out of the All-Star Break at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. 

Nick Castellanos, roughly two hours following Joe Biden’s announcement that he would not seek re-election, crushed a home run to deep left field in the top of the ninth inning against the Pirates as the Phillies beat Pittsburgh 6-0 on Sunday.

Heat Check: After a rough start to the 2024 MLB season, Nick Castellanos has been fantastic over the past few months. Over his last 30 games, Castellanos is batting .302 with five home runs and 21 RBI. On the season, he’s batting .239 with 14 home runs and 50 RBI. [MLB]

July 5, 2021: Castellanos homered while the Kansas City Royals’ broadcast was eulogizing a World War II veteran who had died at age 97 two days earlier.
