WATCH: Tyrese Maxey keeps it real with Paul George on how to handle the Philadelphia fan base, as well as an inside look at the process of pursuing PG
Much is always made about athletes when they come to Philadelphia and how much they “pander” to the fan base. With that said, after hearing Tyrese Maxey give advice to Paul George on how to deal with this city’s fans, I’m not sure I’ve heard a better breakdown.
Since PG signed with the Sixers, it’s been nothing but great vibes centered around the basketball fanbase. A marque-free agent decided to leave Los Angeles and finish off his career in the city of Brotherly Love. While we’re still early in the process of George getting accustomed to his new home, he recently had his new teammate Tyrese Maxey on Podcast P, in what was a highly anticipated episode.

As you can imagine, a lot of tea was spilled in this 57-minute podcast episode. Tyrese also addressed the process that led to recruiting PG to Philly. Mad Max and Embiid apparently got together and discussed this summer’s free agent list, which obviously consisted of their primary target.
“I’ma ride with you until the wheels fall off, and I think it’s a great idea.”
After all, we’ve been through as Sixers fans over this era, you can’t help but feel at peace knowing we finally have the perfect running man to compliment Joel Embiid, who has endured a lot in his own right. Obviously, when you slot Paul George in there to form the NBA’s best big three, you have to believe the sky’s truly the limit for this team.
