Injury News: Status update on Eagles G/T Mekhi Becton
Eagles tackle-converted-guard Mekhi Becton suffered a right leg injury during Sunday’s practice but, thankfully, appears to be alright.
Per NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, Becton avoided serious injury and remains in line to start at RG for the Eagles Week 1 vs. Green Bay.

Becton was selected No. 11 overall by the Jets in the 2020 NFL Draft and had a promising start as a rookie left tackle. He suffered injuries in 2021 and 2022, missing back-to-back seasons before playing all 16 games in 2023.
Looking to rejuvenate his career, Becton signed with the Eagles and embraced a position switch to right guard. Becton has impressed under Jeff Stoutland’s guidance, working his way up to the first-team offense. The other RG candidate, Tyler Steen, has been with the twos.
Becton didn’t dress for the Eagles Week 2 preseason matchup vs. New England while Steen played, indicating that he’s locked up the starting job.
Becton, 6-7, 365 pounds, will be one of the biggest guards to ever play the position. To nobody’s surprise, head coach Nick Sirianni has yet to name a starter.

He’s your first-team RG today. Gonna be getting a look there with Tyler Steen out. #Eagles pic.twitter.com/MFWeRNXYGL
