JT Realmuto crushes 2 homers, Ranger Suarez restores order to the realm in Phillies’ 11-2 win over the Kansas City Royals
The Philadelphia Phillies welcomed back Ranger Suarez on Saturday night in Kansas City for the first time since June 22nd.
Suarez delivered five strong innings of work, allowing just four hits, an earned run and a walk while striking out six to improve to 11-5 on the season – his first win since June 8th.
Suarez delivered when it mattered most, striking out Kyle Isabel and Maikel Garcia with two runners on in his final frame after the Royals cut their deficit to 2-1 in the fifth.
At the plate, the resurgence of JT Realmuto was a sight to see. The Best Catcher in Baseball went 3-for-5 from the plate with 7 RBI, including two 3-run homers to guide the Phillies lineup that put up 18 hits and 11 runs on the night.
Realmuto’s first homer came on a green light 3-0 count in the sixth inning. He crushed a 393 foot bomb to give the Phillies a 5-1 lead. In the eighth inning, Realmuto sent a blast 424 feet into the fountain in left-centerfield to extend the Phillies’ lead to 8-2.

JT Realmuto Home Run No. 2
Aside from Alec Bohm (0-5) and two of the three pinch hitters (Sosa, Rojas), every player in the Phillies lineup notched a hit on Saturday night.
Heat Check: JT Realmuto is now batting .302 with a .566 slugging percentile over his last 15 games. The BCIB has 16 hits, nine runs scored, three homers, and 15 RBI over that span.Â
The win was a big one and hopefully, the spark provided by the offense is a sign of things to come. The Phillies will have an opportunity to win the series against a very good baseball team in the Kansas City Royals tomorrow with Koby Allard on the mound.Â
