Injury Report: Eagles starting linebacker ruled OUT for season opener vs. Green Bay
The Eagles will be without one of their new linebackers in their Week 1 matchup vs. Green Bay.
Per Philadelphia’s latest injury report, LB Devin White has been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Packers with an ankle injury and will not travel to Brazil with the team.

The Eagles signed White to a one-year, $7.5M deal in the offseason, hoping to boost a linebacker group that struggled mightily in 2023. After not getting a new contract last summer, White played under the fifth-year option in Tampa Bay and eventually lost snaps to K.J. Britt.
White entered training camp as the favorite to claim one of the two starting linebacker spots and spent most of the summer getting first-team reps alongside fellow newcomer Zack Baun.
However, according to Eagles reporter Jeff McLane, second-year LB Nakobe Dean beat out White for the starting job.
Nakobe Dean was slated to be the #Eagles’ starting MIKE LB before the team listed Devin White on the injury report on Tuesday, NFL sources said.

It’s’ unclear what role the Eagles had for White, if any, on defense. Nevertheless, he wasn’t… https://t.co/eZOFZNiZN4
Dean and Baun will likely start against the Packers with White sidelined, and missing the season opener doesn’t help White’s case for a significant role in Vic Fangio’s defense.
The Eagles are set to depart for São Paulo, Brazil at 10 A.M. Wednesday morning.
