Nick Castellanos’ brother Ryan hilariously tweets about his brother dominating the Mets in Game 2 of the NLDS

Nick Castellanos clutched up for the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday sending fans at Citizens Bank Park and tuning in across the globe into complete chaos – including his brother Ryan.

Castellanos was a key player in the Phillies’ thrilling 7-6 victory over the Mets in Game 2 of the NLDS, with three massive hits that helped Philadelphia tie the series.

The Phillies looked like they did throughout Game 1. They fell behind 3-0 in the seventh inning and Luis Servino looked like the second coming of Cy Young himself. Just as the figurative dark clouds started to roll in from the Delaware River, Trea Turner finally sparked some hope with a two-out single.

Then, Bryce Harper, Major League Baseball’s “Greatest Showman” stepped up to the plate and sent a 99 mph fastball 431 feet into straight-away center.

That was exactly what the Phillies needed and two pitches later, Nick Castellanos sent a slider into the left-field stands to tie the game. What was a 3-0 Mets lead turned into panic for New York in a matter of seconds.

While Phillies fans were celebrating, Ryan Castellanos, who works as a bartender, was dealing with a different kind of excitement. He shared his experience on X (formerly Twitter) after his brother’s big moment, joking about how hard it is to keep calm under pressure when your sibling was literally carrying the city of Philadelphia on his back.

“They say hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do,” Ryan posted, “But lemme tell you trying to bartend when your brother ties the game with a homer in the NLDS is not too far behind.”

Nick Castellanos was helping the Phillies stay alive in the playoffs, Ryan was trying to handle the madness that comes with bartending during such a massive moment. Regardless of what was more important at the time, the death blow came from Casty in the bottom of the ninth inning with two runners on and two outs.

The Mets, who’ve been comeback kings all season, responded with a two-run homer from Mark Vientos in the ninth to tie it at 6-6. But in the bottom half, Mets reliever Tylor Megill walked both Turner and Harper with two outs, setting the stage for Castellanos to deliver the final blow—a walk-off single to complete the wild comeback.
