Phillies: Bryson Stott delivers insane two-run triple on his birthday as they tie up the series against the Mets, 1-1 in the NLDS

Bryson Stott is now the 2nd player in MLB postseason history to hit a triple on his birthday. In what was a NL Playoff Game for the ages, Stott helped propel the Phillies after trailing as much as 0-3 in the game.

Obviously Bryce Harpers two-run homer gave the Bank so much needed energy, but this triple that painted the foul ball line was truly a thing of beauty, and you just simply have to watch this to understand how huge this moment was.

Bryson Stott’s Triple in the 8th inning of Phillies vs. Mets NLDS Game 2

The hero of this game was clearly Nick Castellanos, who was faced with crucial at-bat after crucial at-bat due to the Mets pitching around Bryce Harper. But Stott’s triple was huge in the fact that it was a huge lift to not just the team but the young Phillies shortstop. A much needed confidence boost and honestly something that could carry some momentum as the team travels to New York for Game 3.

It’s also worth noting that this triple in the 8th was on an at bat where Stott was at a two strike count. If you saw his reaction as he was standing at third as well as in the dugout after he went on to score, you could just feel the disbelief, even Stott was in following the madness.
