Fake Outrage: Nick Sirianni exchanging words with Eagles Fans following Eagles 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns

It was yet another uninspiring Sunday for the Nick Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles, who managed to scrape by with a 20-16 win over the lowly Cleveland Browns at Lincoln Financial Field.

What generated the most buzz from yesterday’s game came just before the final whistle. Nick Sirianni was caught on camera having a heated exchange with some fans seated behind the Eagles’ bench at Lincoln Financial Field.

As the Eagles celebrated their hard-fought victory, cameras zoomed in on Sirianni as he appeared to engage with fans who had been voicing their frustrations throughout the game.

Nick Sirianni, with a buzzed head and his kids on the podium played coy during his postgame press conference, sticking to a rehearsed line: “I’m just excited to get the win.”

He didn’t shy away from acknowledging the impact of the home crowd, though, praising Eagles fans for their role in the game. “Our fans created a couple of false starts that really helped us win this football game,” he said. It’s clear he appreciated the support, but it’s also evident that the mood in the stands wasn’t entirely rosy.

The Eagles, coming off a bye week, were expected to put on a show, but fans grew restless when Cleveland blocked a field goal and returned it for a touchdown just before halftime.

The frustrations boiled over, with audible “fire Sirianni” chants echoing from the crowd, possibly prompting the exchange between Sirianni and the fans.

All of that, in my humble opinion is pointless to even discuss.

If Eagles fans (myself included) want to be tough on their players and coaches, then in no way, can you be upset about Sirianni talking shit right back to you following a win on Sunday.

If anything, we can’t put a muzzle on him now. We should either shut it down completely or let him get at crazy as humanly possible. Finding a middle ground simply won’t work.

I want him to either act like Mr. Rogers (no thanks) or a cross between Hannibal Lecter and the Joker. Take your pick; I prefer the latter.

As the Eagles improve to 3-2 on the season, it seems the coach is getting used to a mix of cheers and jeers. While a win is a win, Sirianni may want to keep that six-word response ready for the next time tensions rise in the stands.
