Phillies Gold Gloves 2024

Zero Gold Gloves for the Phillies’ 4 finalists

The Phillies rolled into Gold Glove season with four solid contenders, but Sunday night’s results left them empty-handed. Zack Wheeler, Bryce Harper, Bryson Stott, and Brandon Marsh all had their names in the mix, but none of them walked away with the hardware.

Phillies Gold Glove Finalists:

  • Zack Wheeler, last year’s Gold Glove pitcher, couldn’t repeat as Atlanta’s Chris Sale snagged the award this time around.
  • Bryce Harper, in his first full season at first base, made an impressive case but got edged out by Arizona’s Christian Walker.
  • Bryson Stott was a finalist again, showing he’s becoming a defensive cornerstone. But Milwaukee’s Brice Turang took home the award at second base.
  • Brandon Marsh, who continues to be recognized for his defense, lost out to the Cubs’ Ian Happ.

While it stings to get shut out, recognition always speaks volumes about the defensive talent the current roster is fielding. Harper’s quick adaptation to first base earned him some well-deserved respect, and Stott’s steady glove has him on everyone’s radar.

Marsh, while struggling offensively, continues to prove that no matter where he’s playing in the outfield, he’s still a defensive stud.

With the Gold Gloves in the rearview, fans have their eyes on the Silver Slugger Awards on November 12 and the NL Cy Young Award on November 20.

MLB Award Season:

  • Nov. 5: Executive of the Year
  • Nov. 12: Silver Sluggers
  • Nov. 14: Comeback Player of the Year and All-MLB teams
  • Nov. 18: Rookie of the Year
  • Nov. 19: Manager of the Year
  • Nov. 20: Cy Young
  • Nov. 21: MVP

Side Note: Circle November 20—Wheeler’s shot at Cy Young glory could be the highlight of the Phillies’ award season.
