Bryce Harper awarded with more hardware, wins fourth career Silver Slugger Award
Bryce Harper just bolstered his already-loaded trophy case, snagging his fourth Silver Slugger Award—and let’s be honest, Philly fans aren’t surprised.
Year after year, Harper proves he’s one of the best in the game, and 2024 was no different. The guy went out there, earned an All-Star spot, and posted a smooth .285/.373/.525 slash line, with 30 bombs and 87 RBIs to his name.

Harper’s .898 OPS? Fourth-best in the National League. Throw in a 149 OPS+ and a 4.8 WAR, and it’s clear Harper hasn’t lost a step. Since he put on a Phillies jersey, he’s kept his OPS over .875 every single season. And as a bonus, he ranked 10th in the league in on-base percentage—because if there’s one thing Harper knows, it’s how to make things happen at the plate.

After Tommy John surgery following the 2022 World Series run, Harper traded right field for the infield. Was it a new challenge? Sure. Did it mess with his hitting? Not one bit. Harper picked up right where he left off, swinging with the same confidence and landing himself back-to-back Silver Sluggers.
The Silver Slugger Award is all about the best bats in the game, and it’s voted on by MLB managers and coaches. Harper took the top spot at first base over Pete Alonso and Freddie Freeman, adding to Philly’s collection of 25 Silver Slugger awards in franchise history.
The trophy is massive three-foot slugger crafted by Louisville Slugger, engraved with the names of all the league’s winners. This is Harper’s fourth to add to his collection alongside his wins from 2015 (back with the Nationals), 2021, and 2023—and let’s not forget, he brought home MVPs in two of those seasons.
While Harper’s bat helped the Phillies clinch their first NL East title since 2011 with a solid 95-67 record, the season ended on a rough note, with a tough NLDS loss to the Mets after their first-round bye.
