Philadelphia 76ers can’t catch a break, ‘final score’ graphic goes viral for all the wrong reasons
The Philadelphia 76ers can’t seem to catch a break. On Sunday, they suffered yet another humiliating loss, this time at home against the LA Clippers.
The 125-99 blowout was over almost as soon as it began, with the Sixers trailing after the first basket and falling behind by as much as 33 points. Fans hoping for any glimmer of hope were left disappointed as the team’s struggles continued.
Adding insult to injury, the Philadelphia 76ers’ managed to fumble things even after the game ended. A final score graphic posted to their official X (formerly Twitter) account drew ridicule thanks to an unfortunate font choice that made the word “FINAL” look like something much less family-friendly.
Philadelphia 76ers Post Final Score with Questionable Font Choice:
The accompanying photo of Tyrese Maxey didn’t help matters either. An unfortunately placed bit of cotton candy in the background made the Sixers’ star guard look like he was rocking a Bozo the Clown hairstyle, which only fueled the internet’s relentless roasting of the team.
The post was quickly deleted, obviously, but not before fans screenshot and retweeted it into infamy. As Joel Embiid once wore on a t-shirt “History Will Be Re-Tweeted.”
Sitting at 3-13 on the season, Philadelphia is in free fall. Injuries to Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George have compounded the team’s struggles and it doesn’t really seem like there’s reason to be optimistic as the NBA calendar rolls into the month of December.
For fans, this season has been nothing but frustration, with even their social media mishaps becoming punchlines. It seems like the Sixers can’t get anything right, on or off the court.
