Jeremy Stephens calls Philly a second-place city, tells everyone to f–k off in Bare Knuckle Fighting presser with Eddie Alvarez

Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center is set to host Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship’s (BKFC) “KnuckleMania V” on January 25, 2025, marking the promotion’s first event in its hometown.

The main event features former UFC Lightweight Champion and Kensington native Eddie Alvarez facing off against Jeremy Stephens, a seasoned MMA fighter with a 2-0 record in bare-knuckle competition.

Alvarez, known as “The Underground King,” made his BKFC debut in April 2023 with a split-decision victory over Chad Mendes. He later faced Mike Perry in December 2023 but suffered a loss via corner stoppage.

Stephens, a veteran of the sport, has secured two consecutive wins in BKFC, defeating Jimmie Rivera by TKO in December 2023 and Bobby Taylor by unanimous decision in September 2024.

Gotta be honest, I absolutely love what I’m hearing from Jeremy Stephens. Showed up by himself? Because he’s a fucking monster? That’s pretty sick. I also hate being a second-place city more than anyone. Stephens is right. We are always getting shafted in sports and I’m completely dead inside.

Stephens knows Philly hates him, he’s not here to be “liked or loved” so really, the only appropriate response to that is to tell us to fuck off and let us know that he believes he’s going to smash Eddie Alvarez’s face in.

Tough to argue with that, right? 

I guess the only saving grace now is knowing that Jeremy Stephens literally cannot lose to Eddie Alvarez or the entire city of Philadelphia will ensure that he’s never allowed to step foot within city limits ever again.

Stephens can take his Bare Knuckle Fighting show elsewhere because one thing about Philly is that if you’re going to talk shit, you’re going to have to actually back it up or you’ll definitely hear it from everyone how you didn’t

Plus, Eddie, my guy…I’ll ride with you until the wheels fall off but when’s the last time you’ve been to Fishtown? I know you’re a Kensington native but the neighborhood isn’t what it used to be. Maybe you recognize that but there’s a million dudes walking around like Jeremy Stevens with a mohawk and sunglasses looking like complete dickheads.

Fortunately, those dickheads aren’t Bare Knuckle fighters so I can say that with absolutely nothing for me to worry about.
