Flyers vs. Ducks: John Tortorella doesn’t ‘give a shit’ that Cutter (The Traitor) Gauthier circled games against Philly on his calendar
John Tortorella – Saturday night, the Flyers roll into Anaheim to face the Ducks in what seems like a meaningless game on a boring trip out west, until you see what Cutter Gauthier, the Flyers’ former first-round pick turned Ducks forward, has to say about the game against the team that drafted him.
Apparently, Cutter Gauthier has the Flyers circled on his calendar but don’t let that confuse you, he told the media that he’s not about “the noise” or “media nonsense” which definitely makes sense…(sarcasm). Gauthier, who quit on the Flyers and now plays for a team no one outside of Southern California cares about, had this to say about tonight’s matchup:
Cutter Gauthier continues to be the biggest loser in the NHL
“Obviously with all that happened, it’s definitely been a game circled on my calendar and I’m super excited to play… I feel like all of it’s just media and all of it’s noise. That was a great lesson for me, not to let little people, people all over the media dictate how I feel and how I perform.” – Cutter The Traitor
Ah yes, the classic “it’s just noise” line from a guy who’s made it a point to highlight said noise in every interview. You really can’t make this stuff up.
For the Flyers and John Tortorella, however, they simply do not give a shit about Cutter The Traitor. They don’t pay attention to what he says and they have zero interest in answering any type of questions about him or the lousy Anaheim Ducks team that he is currently playing for.
John Tortorella: “I don’t give a shit what he says…”
“I don’t give a shit what he says. I’m not interested in answering questions about Cutter Gauthier. I don’t wish anything bad on the kid. I’m not gonna answer any questions about him.” – Disinterested Flyers head coach John Tortorella (Crossing Broad)
Translation: Cutter Gauthier isn’t even on the Flyers or Torts’ radar.

Anaheim Stinks, and So Does Cutter Gauthier’s Season
Let’s not kid ourselves—this game isn’t going to be a barnburner. The Ducks are seventh in the Pacific with 30 points, and Gauthier is… well, not exactly lighting it up this year. With four goals and 10 assists in 33 games (plus the honor of being benched twice in one game back in October), Gauthier’s Anaheim debut has been, at best, forgettable.
The Flyers aren’t world-beaters either, but they’ve got one thing going for them: they aren’t the Ducks and Matvei Michkov, while quiet the last few games, is still the most promising young talent in the entire NHL.
The Real Game? Two Weeks from Now in Philly
Tonight’s matchup in Anaheim might feel like a warm-up to the real fireworks will come when Cutter “The Traitor” Gauthier steps onto Philadelphia ice in two weeks. Flyers fans have long memories, and you better believe Gauthier will hear it from the crowd.
See you soon, Cutter (T-Shirts in the Shop)

Boo him back to the West Coast. Boo him for quitting on the Flyers. Boo him for the audacity of calling the backlash “noise” while unironically mentioning it any time a microphone is shoved in his underperforming face.
Saturday night’s game might not be one for the history books, but it’s a prelude to what’s shaping up to be an epic showdown in Philly. So get your lungs ready. Cutter Gauthier deserves every decibel of the reception waiting for him in South Philly and he’ll hear it tonight too, with Phans of Philly in the building.
And as for John Tortorella and the Flyers, they probably won’t give a shit then, either.
