Taijuan Walker Revenge Tour: Offseason workout videos that rival Ben Simmons posted online
Is a Taijuan Walker Revenge Tour in the works for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2025?
At the risk of stating the obvious, Taijuan Walker hasn’t even been mentioned as a part of the Phillies starting rotation projections for 2025.
With Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola, Ranger Suarez, and Cristopher Sanchez, along with newly acquired Jesus Luzardo, that’s already five starters ahead of him.
When you factor in Andrew Painter waiting for his opportunity in Lehigh Valley along with Mick Abel on the 40-man roster, there really doesn’t seem to be much room for Walker in Philly next year.
- Patience: Andrew Painter’s Phillies debut likely delayed until July 2025
- Phillies sign righty Joe Ross to one-year deal
- Phillies land Jesus Luzardo from the Marlins in exchange for two prospects
Taijuan Walker Revenge Tour in 2025…?
Taijuan Walker has literally been horrible since the All-Star break LAST SEASON. I’ve been writing about how bad he’s been for over a year and it’s getting old at this point.
Taijuan Walker 2023 Splits:
- Before All-Star Break: 10-3, 4.02 ERA
- Post All-Star Break: 5-3, 4.83 ERA
Taijuan Walker 2024 Stats:
- 19 Games, 15 Starts, 83.2 IP: 3-7, 7.10 ERA
That being said, I apologize for not being completely sold on a Taijuan Walker Revenge Tour in 2025. Watching that workout routine does nothing for me except give me flashbacks of Ben Simmons posting gym videos of him knocking down threes and jumpers all over the basketball court.
Honestly, Simmons looks better because at least he decided to stop playing for the Philadelphia 76ers. Taijuan Walker is still owed $36 million over the next two years before he’s an unrestricted free agent in 2027.

I will say, Walker even trying to get back into any type of form is a good sign. Even while he was horrible throughout the 2024 season and riddled with injuries, he always seemed to be a positive guy in the clubhouse so at least he has that going for him.
If the Phillies are going to pay him $36 million the next two seasons, then at least we’re getting another “vibes guy” – but even then, he has Garrett Stubbs to compete with so who knows if that’s enough.
