Disgusting Behavior: Flyers fan rocking a backwards Eagles hat throws punches at Maple Leafs fans, gives media every right to trash Philly fans

Shoutout to this Flyers fan – I’ve spent years defending Philadelphia sports fans against the lazy, played-out stereotype that we’re all violent degenerates who live to boo Santa and fight anyone in a rival jersey and honestly, we’ve come a long way as a fanbase.

These days, players get standing ovations even when they’re stinking up the joint (Shoutout Trea Turner) and most of the wild brawls you see in sports happen out in California or Dallas, not South Philly.

But then some idiot like this backwards Eagles hat guy, who went down the aisle of the stands at the Wells Fargo Center to throw a few cheap shots at a Maple Leafs fan talking shit, comes and completely ruins any and all progress we’ve made as a fanbase and I’m back to square one defending the city because of this moron.

Thank me later, but this dude stinks out loud.

After the Flyers’ 3-2 loss to the Maple Leafs, a couple of Leafs fans started chirping as they headed for the exits. Nothing crazy, just some typical “see ya” taunts after their team picked up the W. Annoying? Sure. Worth throwing hands over? Absolutely not.

If anything, just chirp back and tell these Canadian dorks that they’ll be the 52nd state soon enough, ya know?

But nope, the backwards Eagles hat guy decided it was worth it. He climbed over a few seats, threw some cheap shots, and walked off like he just won a UFC title.

1. The guy had the high ground, and still did zero damage.
2. The Leafs fans ate the punches and didn’t even fight back.
3. This whole thing screams “dork behavior.”

Congratulations, to this Flyers fan. He didn’t just embarrass himself; he made all of us look bad. Philly fans are constantly battling against the national media narrative that we’re the worst fanbase in sports. I’m sick of pointing out how literally every other fanbase gets into fights every week—sometimes with each other—and yet we’re the ones who get dragged.

Videos like this are the ammunition the media and rival fans are waiting for. It doesn’t matter that 49ers fans are stabbing each other at fast food restaurants or that Cowboys fans get into parking lot brawls on the regular.

The second a Philly fan steps out of line, it’s headline news and it’s exhausting.

This Flyers fan sucks, plain and simple. If you’re going to throw hands, at least pick a battle that doesn’t make the rest of us look like clowns.

Philly fans are passionate, loyal, and loud—and we should be proud of that. But we’ve got to stop giving the national media reasons to trash us. Cheap shots at a Maple Leafs fan who was just running his mouth? That’s not passion, it’s stupidity.

To backwards Eagles hat guy: Get a grip, bud. You’re not helping anyone, least of all the city you’re supposedly repping. Let the Leafs fans take their W and leave. We’ve got bigger battles to fight.
