Eagles fans band together to start a GoFundMe to support those affected by LA wildfires
Us Eagles fans have been hit with a lot of slack this week. All because one dickhead lost his cool at a Green Bay Packers fan.
Not a great look for us, but as they say, you can’t judge an entire fanbase from just one douchebag. I don’t know if they actually say that but I’m sticking with it.
With wildfires ravaging the west coast — Los Angeles in particular — Eagles fans have band together to start a GoFundMe for those affected by the fire. It was started by a fan just after we found out we were going to play the Rams this upcoming Sunday.
While we obviously want to kick the Rams’ ass on the field, we’re all humans at the end of the day. Helping your fellow American is what this country was built on and that’s exactly what Eagles fans plan to do.
The Eagles fans’ GoFundMe reads:
Now that we know the Rams are our opponent and obviously LA is dealing with some seriously crazy stuff right now, I thought it might be nice ahead of the game to offer some help and support LA’s way from birds fans (and especially after that horrible fan made life miserable for an opposing Packers fan and went viral for it). This fund is organized by Eagles fans in the Philadelphia area and beyond to benefit the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund.
We’re still gonna kick the Rams’ butts, but there’s plenty of people in and around LA (Rams and birds’ fans alike) that could use some help right now. I know a lot of the attention is going towards celebrities but there are plenty of everyday people who have lost a lot during this and are risking life and limb to help others.
This is awesome.
There’s nothing more Patriotic than helping people who need it the most. Despite all the negativity that follows our fanbase, 99.9% of us are normal people who just want what’s best for everyone.
You can donate to the GoFundMe here. The goal is currently set at $10K and it’s already about to hit. Let’s double it and get it to $20K at least by Sunday.
