Myles Garrett Watch: Eagles GM Howie Roseman addresses potential trade for star pass-rusher

Reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett stole headlines during Super Bowl week by officially requesting a trade from the Cleveland Browns.

“While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl,” Garrett stated.

After eight seasons in Cleveland, including a 3-14 campaign in 2024, Garrett is looking toward greener pastures in pursuit of a championship.

When looking at potential trade partners, none are more aggressive than Eagles GM Howie Roseman.

The Eagles are playing in Super Bowl LIX largely due to Roseman’s additions last offseason. Vic Fangio (new DC), Saquon Barkley, Zack Baun (free agency), Quinyon Mitchell, and Cooper DeJean (NFL Draft) have all made monumental impacts in Philadelphia.

When asked about potentially pursuing Garrett in the offseason by Eagles fans, Roseman didn’t show his hand.

“I’m not gonna talk about anyone else under contract with any team. Nice try, though.”

Roseman will no doubt explore all avenues to acquire the star pass-rusher when March rolls around, but for now, the Eagles have a Super Bowl to win.

Garrett has compiled 102.5 sacks in his first eight NFL seasons, sixth-most all-time among players through eight years.
