CJ Gardner-Johnson called his shot after Super Bowl LVII—and the Eagles delivered in LIX

CJ Gardner-Johnson brought the receipts to social media following the Eagles’ 40-22 demolition of the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX last night in New Orleans.

Over a year and a half ago, the Eagles safety took to X to air his grievances about Philadelphia’s Super Bowl LVII loss to the Chiefs. The main culprit? That atrocious field in Arizona, which turned the game into a slip-and-slide and neutralized the Eagles’ pass rush.

👉 “If we played on legit grass, our D-line would’ve smashed them.”

Fast forward to Super Bowl LIX—played on a proper field at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans—and guess what happened?

Mahomes was sacked six times. He had no room to breathe. The Eagles’ front dominated the trenches without even needing to send extra rushers. And the result? A 40-22 beatdown.

How the Eagles defense ruined Patrick Mahomes while not blitzing ONCE in Super Bowl LIX

So, naturally, Gardner-Johnson circled back to his old post and let everyone know:

“And y’all thought I was tripping.”

The best part is that CJGJ was absolutely right.

CJ Gardner-Johnson Nailed It…

Back in Super Bowl LVII, the Eagles’ pass rush was one of the best in NFL history. They had 70 sacks in the regular season. On that sketchy field in Glendale? Zero. Mahomes had all day to operate, and the Chiefs offense diced up a defense that simply couldn’t plant and explode.

In Super Bowl LIX, there was no mysterious field controversy. Just pure domination from a Vic Fangio-led defense that had the right guys in the right spots. Mahomes was under siege all night long. The game was over before the third quarter even hit.

It’s one thing to talk that talk. It’s another to back it up. I think it’s safe to say that CJ Gardner-Johnson backed it up, right?
