Redemption Arc Complete: Philly Mayor Cherelle Parker finally spells ‘Eagles’ correctly…kind of

It took two tries, but Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker finally got the spelling of “Eagles” right… kind of. Technically speaking, she still didn’t spell “Eagles” correctly and if we’re judging strictly on letters and accuracy, “N-F-L-C-H-A-M-P-I-O-N-S” isn’t even remotely close.

Spiritually, I think it’s safe to say that Mayor Cherelle Parker absolutely crushed it. Any time you spell, read, or hear the word(s) “NFL Champions” that’s basically talking about the league’s newest dynasty, the Philadelphia Eagles. The two are synonyms until further notice.

Plus when you’re trying to spell anything with Swoop breathing down your neck, you deserve some type of credit. I have no idea why but having the Eagles’ mascot standing directly behind Mayor Cherelle Parker is the funniest thing ever.

He’s back there looking like a true Eagle, stalking his prey.

Maybe it’s just the NFL Champion in me or the fact that I’m an 8th grade spelling bee champion but shoutout Parker for taking this entire ordeal in stride.

Typically, I would have trashed her for being the Mayor of Philadelphia and not being able to spell E-A-G-L-E-S and then also criticize her for having to read off a piece of paper to spell “N-F-L-C-H-A-M-P-I-O-N-S” but whatever- at the end of the day, we’re all champs now, ya know?

Parker could’ve gone into hiding, pretended it never happened, or doubled down on bad spelling takes. Instead, she embraced the moment, laughed it off, and continues to make light of the entire situation.
