Dak Prescott Eagles Super Bowl LIX

Dak Prescott has a bold take about Eagles’ Super Bowl win—And it’s absolutely hilarious

Dak Prescott is really out here searching for a Cowboys-themed silver lining in the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory, and buddy, I hate to break it to you, but it does not exist.

Prescott was asked this week about how far he thinks the Cowboys are from competing at the same level as the Eagles. His response? Pure comedy.

“I feel like we’ve competed with the Eagles and beat them for the most part when we’ve played them,” Prescott told ESPN’s Todd Archer

I’m sorry, Dak Prescott, what exactly are we talking about here?

The Eagles just won the Super Bowl. They have been to two of the last three. The Commanders, yes the Washington Commanders, just made the NFC Championship for the first time in 33 years.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys have not reached the NFC Championship Game since 1995.

For reference, Toy Story hadn’t even been released the last time the Cowboys were in a conference title game. And yet, Dak Prescott is hanging his cowboy hat on Dallas being “very close” because of regular-season matchups?

Hang the fucking banners already, brother. The Cowboys are “Dem Boyz” once again.

The Eagles swept Dallas in 2024, outscoring them by 62 points combined. Prescott didn’t even play in those games, which makes his take even funnier.

Sure, if we go back through the many years, the Cowboys have had some success against the Eagles in the regular season—but what does that matter when Philly is out here hanging banners while Dallas keeps hanging “We Dem Boyz” tweets on social media?

Dak Prescott did at least acknowledge reality for a moment, saying:

“I don’t want to say, ‘Check the record,’ when the other guy is holding the trophy, right? So credit to them.”

But then he immediately doubled back on the “very close” line, which makes absolutely no sense.

Look, winning regular season games is nice. But if the Cowboys don’t even make it past the Divisional Round, it’s just empty calories. The Eagles are NFL champions again, and all the Cowboys have is another offseason of excuses.
