New Orleans wasn’t exactly kind to the Mahomes family this past week. Patrick Mahomes got stomped out in the Super Bowl, and now Pat Mahomes Sr. is out here getting into fake-looking street fights with John Rocker in the French Quarter.

Yes, John Rocker. The same guy who once made himself public enemy No. 1 for saying the quiet part way too loud about the New York City subway system.

A video of Pat Mahomes Sr. and John Rocker “getting into it” in New Orleans went viral on Tuesday, showing the two exchanging words before being separated by Mahomes Sr.’s group.

At first glance, it looked like a real-deal confrontation, but after about five seconds of watching it, it’s hard to believe this wasn’t staged.

Why is it solid promotion? Because this just so happens to be promoting an upcoming fight between the two in Barstool’s Rough ‘N Rowdy boxing promotion.

Dave Portnoy already confirmed the fight was happening days before this conveniently timed altercation.

I mean seriously, the camera work alone gives it away.

A random cameraman just happened to be filming Mahomes Sr. doing absolutely nothing right before John Rocker enters the frame perfectly? That’s not a coincidence, that’s a wrestling promo.

Still, I gotta give them credit—it worked.

People are talking about the fight now, and for a guy like Mahomes Sr., who’s had some legal trouble recently, faking a viral video isn’t the worst way to grab a check.

So is this legit bad blood or just marketing genius? Either way, let’s see if Mahomes Sr. can land more punches in the ring than his son did in the Super Bowl.
