Mac McClung Keeps the Dunk Contest Alive With Two of the Craziest Jams Ever
The NBA has no idea how lucky it is that Mac McClung keeps showing up to save the dunk contest.
On Saturday night, the three-time champion did it again, delivering two of the filthiest dunks the competition has ever seen and reminding everyone why he’s the best show in the building every time he steps on the court.
Mac McClung Jumping Over a Car, But Actually Doing It Right
McClung wasted no time setting the tone. His first dunk? Absolute insanity.
He brought out a Kia sedan—yes, the same brand Blake Griffin jumped over back in 2011—but unlike Griffin, who barely cleared the hood, McClung went all the way over the top.

Not only did he clear the entire car, but he also snatched the ball from a man sticking out of the sunroof, cocked it back, and threw it down with a ridiculous falling-away slam.
It was the kind of dunk that shouldn’t even be possible, and yet, McClung made it look effortless.
Bringing Back the Aaron Gordon Magic, Then Taking It Further
As if that wasn’t enough, McClung took things to a completely different level in the final round.
He paid homage to Aaron Gordon’s legendary hoverboard dunk from 2016 by having a guy spin around holding a ball—but that was just the start.
Then he added a second man on a ladder holding another ball near the rim.
And what did Mac McClung do? He dunked both balls in one jump.

Think about that for a second. This wasn’t a simple “hold two basketballs and throw them down” dunk. He timed it perfectly, grabbed one ball off the hoverboard guy, then snatched the second off the ladder and flushed them both in the same leap.
Just completely ridiculous.
A Historic Three-Peat and a Contest Mac McClung Owns
San Antonio Spurs rookie Stephon Castle put up a real fight in the final round, scoring a near-perfect 99.6 on his two dunks. But it didn’t matter. McClung threw down four straight 50s and walked away with his third consecutive Slam Dunk title.
That’s never been done before. Not by Jordan. Not by Carter. Only Mac McClung.
The NBA took a ton of heat for its underwhelming dunk contest lineup this year, and let’s be real—the league should be embarrassed that it can’t get actual superstars to participate anymore. But every time it looks like the contest is dead, McClung pulls it out of the grave and puts on a show that no one can stop talking about.
The man isn’t just a dunker—he’s a lifeline for an event that desperately needs him. The real question now? Does he come back for a fourth?
